People are turning to pills and other forms of medication in unprecedented numbers, but to a large extent, these drugs aren’t solving the problem.”

But instead of despairing, the status quo points Congdon’s work towards real solutions. For the first time, modern technology has allowed biologists to map the inner chemicals that actually cause those troubling feelings, and positive psychologists have used that information to construct the pillars of a meaningful life.
